About BCN Passes

BCN Passes answers one question: which Barcelona pass, if any, is worth buying for your trip. It is an independent site run from the Barcelona area, and it is happy to tell you to buy nothing.

Why this site exists

Search for a Barcelona travel pass and almost everything you find is trying to sell you one. The official pages describe their own product, the resellers push whatever pays them most, and very few pages put the options side by side with real prices. Even fewer will tell you that, for a short trip on foot, a pass is simply a waste of money.

So we built the comparison we wanted to read: the calculator prices your actual trip with every combination of passes, and each page explains one decision (the Aerobus, the Hola Barcelona, the Barcelona Card) in plain terms.

Who is behind it

BCN Passes is published by Magnify Digital S.L., a small digital company based in Santa Coloma de Gramenet, on the edge of Barcelona. The full company details are in the legal notice.

What we promise

• Real prices. Official products are priced from the official shop, refreshed every day. See the methodology.
• "Don't buy" is a valid answer. If your trip doesn't pay for a pass, the calculator says so, even though we earn nothing that way.
• Dates on everything. Every page says when its prices and fares were last checked.
• Mistakes get fixed. If something is wrong, tell us and we will correct it.

How we make money

We are an official affiliate of Turisme de Barcelona: when you buy through our links we earn a commission and you pay exactly the same. Some of what we recommend pays us nothing at all. The details, including the biases that creates and how we counter them, are on how we make money.
