Which Barcelona pass is actually worth it

There are five ways to pay for your way around Barcelona and most websites push you towards the priciest. Tell us what your trip looks like and we will tell you what to buy — including when the answer is "nothing".

Which ticket works out cheapest?

Official prices, updated 22 October 2026. We tell you what to buy — and when no pass is worth it.

Which museums will you actually visit?

These are free with the Barcelona Card. Only tick the ones you genuinely want to see — over-ticking is the quickest way to buy a pass that never pays for itself.

The card also covers 11 more museums that the official shop doesn’t sell on their own (Castell de Montjuïc, CCCB, Centre Martorell d’Exposicions, Disseny Hub Barcelona (DHUB)…). We leave them out, so the Barcelona Card’s real saving is a little higher than shown here.

Airport to the city centre

Aerobus, metro, train or taxi — with the T-casual trap explained.

Getting around the city

How many journeys it takes before a travel card pays off.

Which pass to buy

The part the official site does not have: comparing them against each other.

Bus Turístic

Good orientation on day one, poor transport for the rest.

How we make money. We are an official affiliate of Turisme de Barcelona. If you buy through our links we earn a commission and you pay exactly the same. That is why the calculator also tells you when not to buy anything, and why we recommend the T-casual or Go City when they fit, even though we earn nothing from either. The full explanation.
