Barcelona city pass: which one actually suits you

There are five ways to pay for your way around Barcelona and they are less alike than they look. This is the table missing everywhere else: what each gives you, what it costs today, and when none of them is worth buying.

Choose by what you will do, not by price

You are here for Gaudí

Sagrada Família, Casa Batlló, Park Güell and La Pedrera are not in the Barcelona Card. That is the most expensive mistake in this niche. If your trip revolves around modernisme, look at Go City or buy individual tickets.

You are here for museums

MNAC, Picasso, MACBA, CosmoCaixa, Miró, the Egyptian Museum. The Barcelona Card is hard to beat there, and it carries you to all of them as well.

You just need to get around

Hola Barcelona if you arrive and leave by airport metro; T-casual if not. At 1,30 € a journey, the T-casual is difficult to beat inside the city.

First visit, short on time

The Bus Turístic works as an orientation, but do not buy it expecting it to replace transport: a full loop takes about two hours and it stops running at seven.

When not to buy any of them.

Two or three days, central accommodation, a couple of visits and a willingness to walk. On that trip, individual tickets plus a T-casual beat every pass — and that is not an edge case, it is the most common city break there is.

Your trip, your numbers

Which ticket works out cheapest?

Official prices, updated 22 October 2026. We tell you what to buy — and when no pass is worth it.

Which museums will you actually visit?

These are free with the Barcelona Card. Only tick the ones you genuinely want to see — over-ticking is the quickest way to buy a pass that never pays for itself.

The card also covers 11 more museums that the official shop doesn’t sell on their own (Castell de Montjuïc, CCCB, Centre Martorell d’Exposicions, Disseny Hub Barcelona (DHUB)…). We leave them out, so the Barcelona Card’s real saving is a little higher than shown here.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Barcelona pass?

There is no single best one: it depends whether you need transport, museums or the major attractions. The Barcelona Card wins if you do museums, the Hola Barcelona if you only need transport, Go City if you are going to Sagrada Família and Casa Batlló, and the T-casual if you plan to walk.

What is the Barcelona City Pass?

It is not one official product: it is how people search generically for the city’s tourist passes. The official ones from Turisme de Barcelona are the Barcelona Card and the Hola Barcelona Travel Card; Go City is a private company.

Is any pass worth it for 2 days?

In two days it is hard to amortise much. A T-casual (13,00 € for 10 journeys) covers the transport comfortably, and individual tickets usually beat any pass.

Which one includes the airport?

The Barcelona Card and the Hola Barcelona both include the airport metro, out and back. The T-casual is not valid at those stations. None of them includes the Aerobus.
