Aerobus Barcelona: price, stops and when it is worth it

The Aerobus links both airport terminals with Plaça de Catalunya in about 35 minutes, around the clock. A single is 7,75 € and a return 13,30 €. It is fast and direct, but it is not always the cheapest — and there are two things about it almost nobody tells you.

Price

TicketPriceValid for
Single7,75 €One journey
Return13,30 €15 days from first use

The return saves you 2,20 € against two singles. It only pays off if you are coming back to the airport the same way inside those 15 days.

The two traps

1. The stops are not the same in both directions.

Heading to the airport the route is Plaça de Catalunya → Sepúlveda–Comte Urgell → Plaça d’Espanya. Coming from the airport it is Plaça d’Espanya → Gran Via–Comte Borrell → Plaça Universitat. Plaça Universitat only exists on the airport-to-city leg: wait there for a bus to the airport and none will come.

2. It does not call at Sants or Barcelona Nord.

This is the costly one. If your train or coach leaves from Sants, the Aerobus drops you at Catalunya and you still have to take the metro. In that case the Rodalies train or the metro is the better choice from the start.

Which line you need

LineTerminalAirport stop
A1 T1 T1, departures floor
A2 T2 T2B outbound, T2C inbound

Both lines share the city stops and differ only in the terminal. Check your boarding pass before you board: taking the A1 when you need T2 means crossing the airport on foot or by shuttle.

Aerobus, metro or taxi?

The real question is not what the Aerobus costs, it is what you are doing for the rest of the trip. If you are going to use public transport every day, the airport journey stops being a separate decision: the Hola Barcelona Travel Card already covers the metro to and from the airport, so paying for the Aerobus on top can mean paying twice for the same leg.

Which ticket works out cheapest?

Official prices, updated 22 October 2026. We tell you what to buy — and when no pass is worth it.

Which museums will you actually visit?

These are free with the Barcelona Card. Only tick the ones you genuinely want to see — over-ticking is the quickest way to buy a pass that never pays for itself.

The card also covers 11 more museums that the official shop doesn’t sell on their own (Castell de Montjuïc, CCCB, Centre Martorell d’Exposicions, Disseny Hub Barcelona (DHUB)…). We leave them out, so the Barcelona Card’s real saving is a little higher than shown here.

Frequently asked questions

How much is the Aerobus in Barcelona?

7,75 € for a single and 13,30 € for a return, which stays valid for 15 days.

How long does the Aerobus take to the centre?

About 35 minutes to Plaça de Catalunya, with no changes.

Does the Aerobus stop at Sants station?

No. Neither the A1 nor the A2 calls at Barcelona Sants or Barcelona Nord. If you are heading for Sants, the Rodalies train is the direct option.

Is the Aerobus included in the Hola Barcelona Travel Card?

No. The Hola Barcelona covers the metro to the airport, not the Aerobus, which is a separate commercial service. This is the most common and most expensive mix-up with that card.

Aerobus or metro — which is better?

The metro with an Airport ticket costs 5,90 € against 7,75 € for the Aerobus, but it leaves you on the L9 Sud and almost always means a change. The Aerobus runs straight to Plaça de Catalunya.
