Is the Go City Barcelona pass worth it?
It is the most-asked question about Barcelona passes, and it is almost always answered badly — by comparing it with the Barcelona Card. They are not competitors: they cover different attractions and suit different trips. Here is the difference, with the individual ticket prices so you can do your own sums.
Transparency note. We do not sell Go City and earn nothing from it. We do earn from the Barcelona Card. If we still tell you when Go City is the better choice, it is because recommending something that does not suit you is worth nothing to us.
What each one covers
| Go City | Barcelona Card | |
|---|---|---|
| Built around | Major paid attractions | Municipal museums + transport |
| Sagrada Família | Yes | No |
| Casa Batlló | Yes | No |
| Park Güell, La Pedrera | Depends on the pass | No |
| Municipal museums | Some | 23 free |
| Unlimited transport | No | Yes, airport included |
| Validity | 30 days from activation | 48 to 120 consecutive hours |
| From | 89 € | 53,10 € (72 h) |
The sum that actually matters
Individual tickets to the big two, at official Turisme de Barcelona shop prices:
| Sagrada Família | 66,30 € |
| Casa Batlló | 31,50 € |
| Park Güell (guided) | 41,00 € |
| La Pedrera | 29,00 € |
| Sagrada Família + Casa Batlló | 97,80 € |
The Go City Essentials pass starts at 89 € and includes three attractions, one of them a major one. If your plan already ran through Sagrada Família and Casa Batlló (97,80 € separately), the pass starts to make sense. If you are only seeing one of them, almost certainly not.
The three Go City passes
| Pass | From | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Essentials | 89 € | 3 attractions, one of them a major one |
| Explorer | 114 € | You choose how many attractions |
| All-Inclusive | 189 € | As many as you like, by number of days |
"From" prices as published by Go City. They do not publish exact adult or child prices outside the checkout, so treat these as a floor rather than a final figure.
So which do you buy?
Go City if you are here for Gaudí and the headline attractions, if your trip spreads over more than five days, or if you want the 30-day window to decide as you go.
Barcelona Card if the city's museums interest you and you will use transport heavily. That is 23 museums and the full travel pass, airport included, for 53,10 € over three days.
Neither if your plan is two or three separate visits. Buying individual tickets works out better more often than people expect, and our calculator will say so without hedging.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Go City Barcelona pass worth it?
If your plan includes Sagrada Família and Casa Batlló, probably yes: separately they cost 97,80 € and the Essentials pass starts at 89 €. If your plan is municipal museums and transport, no — that is what the Barcelona Card is for, and it is cheaper.
What is the difference between Go City and the Barcelona Card?
Go City covers the big paid attractions (Sagrada Família, Casa Batlló, tours). The Barcelona Card covers 23 municipal museums plus unlimited transport. They barely overlap: none of the Gaudí highlights are included in the Barcelona Card.
Does Go City include public transport?
Not unlimited, the way the Barcelona Card does. It is an attractions pass, not a travel card, so you will need a metro ticket or a separate transport pass on top.
How long does a Go City pass last?
The passes are valid for 30 days from activation, which gives more room than the 48–120 consecutive hours of the Barcelona Card or the Hola Barcelona.
Is Sagrada Família included in the Barcelona Card?
No. Neither is Casa Batlló, Park Güell or La Pedrera. The Barcelona Card covers municipal museums — MNAC, Picasso, MACBA, CosmoCaixa, Miró and others. Sagrada Família on its own is 66,30 €.
