Tickets
Every station a visitor is likely to use is in fare zone 1, so a zone 1 ticket covers all the stops in the table above except the two airport stations. For most visitors the T-casual (13,00 € for 10 journeys) is the cheapest way to ride; one journey lets you change lines, and to buses or trams, within 75 minutes. Every option compared in Barcelona metro tickets and prices.
Unlimited travel: Hola Barcelona · €17.76 Includes the airport metro stations.
Frequently asked questions
Where can I download the Barcelona metro map?
TMB publishes the official network map as a PDF: Barcelona metro map (PDF). This page lists every line and station in text, which is easier to search on a phone.
How many metro lines does Barcelona have?
TMB runs 8: L1 to L5, L9, L10 and L11 (L9 and L10 work as two separate halves, Nord and Sud), plus the Montjuïc funicular. FGC runs four more urban lines, L6, L7, L8 and L12, on the same fares.
Does the Barcelona metro go to the airport?
Yes, line L9 Sud stops at Aeroport T1 and Aeroport T2. It joins the rest of the network at Zona Universitària (L3), Collblanc (L5) and Torrassa (L1). A T-casual is not valid at the airport stations; you need the 5,90 € Airport ticket or a pass that includes them.
What time does the Barcelona metro close?
Monday to Thursday and Sunday at midnight, Friday at 2am, and on Saturday it runs all night. The times are when the last train leaves each end of the line.
Which metro stop is closest to Sagrada Família?
Sagrada Família, on lines L2 and L5. The station exits are right beside the basilica.
Which metro stop is closest to Park Güell?
Lesseps or Vallcarca on line L3, then about 20 minutes on foot, uphill. There is no station at the park itself.
