What the Hola Barcelona Travel Card covers, and what it does not
Unlimited travel on almost all zone 1 public transport, plus the airport metro out and back. The important part is the second list: the Aerobus is not included, and plenty of people find that out at the stop.
Included
- Metro
- TMB buses
- NitBus night buses
- Tram
- FGC within zone 1
- Rodalies trains within zone 1
- Montjuïc Funicular
Plus one metro journey from the airport and one back, which is its biggest edge over ordinary travel cards.
Not included
- Aerobus
A separate commercial service, not integrated transport. - Bus Turístic
A tourist product, not a transport line. - Montjuïc cable car
The funicular is included; the cable car is a different thing and is paid separately. - Taxis and ride-hailing
No transport pass covers them.
The Aerobus confusion, explained.
Both have "Barcelona" in the name and both go to the airport, so the mistake is understandable. But the Aerobus is a commercial coach with its own ticket, and the Hola Barcelona is an integrated transport pass. What the card covers is the metro on the L9 Sud to T1 or T2.
If your plan was to arrive by Aerobus, the card will not pay for it: you will buy that ticket separately and lose one of the two things that justify the card's price.
Zone 1 reaches further than you think
It takes in the whole city and much of the metropolitan area. The airport counts, Tibidabo via FGC counts, and so do Rodalies trains inside that zone. What falls outside are the proper day trips: Montserrat, Sitges and Girona all need their own tickets.

Frequently asked questions
What does the Hola Barcelona Travel Card cover?
Unlimited travel on Metro, TMB buses, NitBus night buses, Tram, FGC within zone 1, Rodalies trains within zone 1, Montjuïc Funicular, within zone 1, for the hours you bought.
Is the Aerobus included?
No. It covers the metro to the airport, not the Aerobus. They are different services and this is the most common misunderstanding about the card.
Which buses are included?
The whole TMB daytime network and the NitBus night services, within zone 1. Not the Bus Turístic, which is a separate tourist product.
Does it include the airport?
Yes: one metro journey from the airport and one back. That is precisely what the T-casual cannot do, because it is not valid at Aeroport T1 and T2.
What zones does it cover?
Zone 1, which takes in the whole city of Barcelona and much of the metropolitan area, including the airport. Trips to Montserrat, Sitges or Girona need separate tickets.
