Barcelona Card: prices, what's included, and whether it's worth it

The Barcelona Card is Turisme de Barcelona's own city pass: unlimited public transport, the airport metro and free entry to more than 25 museums. It is good value for museum-heavy trips and poor value for everyone else. Here is how to tell which you are.

What's included

What it does not include: Sagrada Família, Park Güell, Casa Batlló entry, the Aerobus and the night buses. If your list is mostly Gaudí, this is the wrong pass.

Is it worth it?

Compare it with the transport-only option. For three days the Barcelona Card costs 53,10 € and the Hola Barcelona 25,94 €: the museums have to be worth 27,16 € to you. That is roughly 2 of the included museums, starting with the dearest. Visit fewer and buy transport plus tickets instead; visit more and the card wins.

Two honest caveats. Of the 23 museums we track, only 12 have a price we can verify, so the card can be worth a little more than our sums show. And museum time is the real limit: three museums a day is a lot of walking. Our side-by-side is in Barcelona Card vs Hola Barcelona, or put your own trip into the calculator below.

Which ticket works out cheapest?

Official prices, updated 22 October 2026. We tell you what to buy — and when no pass is worth it.

Which museums will you actually visit?

These are free with the Barcelona Card. Only tick the ones you genuinely want to see — over-ticking is the quickest way to buy a pass that never pays for itself.

The card also covers 11 more museums that the official shop doesn’t sell on their own (Castell de Montjuïc, CCCB, Centre Martorell d’Exposicions, Disseny Hub Barcelona (DHUB)…). We leave them out, so the Barcelona Card’s real saving is a little higher than shown here.

Frequently asked questions

How much is the Barcelona Card?

Online, from 35,10 € for 48 hours to 71,10 € for 120 hours (adults). Children aged 4 to 12 pay less, and under-4s do not need one.

Does the Barcelona Card include the airport?

It includes the metro and the local train to the airport. It does not include the Aerobus.

Does the Barcelona Card include Sagrada Família or Park Güell?

No. Neither is included; at best you get a discount on some Gaudí sites. If those are your priority, look at Go City instead.

When does the Barcelona Card start counting?

From first use, not from purchase. Bought cards are valid until the end of the calendar year, so you can buy ahead.

Is the Barcelona Card worth it?

For a three-day stay it costs 27,16 € more than a transport-only Hola Barcelona. If you will visit at least 2 of the included museums, it pays for itself. If not, it does not.

Is there a Barcelona Card without transport?

Yes, the Barcelona Card Essential, from 29,00 € for 72 hours. Adding a transport pass to it usually costs more than the full card.
